Equine Innovations Lead Horse Trainer (Natalie Crump)

Bio:

Natalie has been training horses for 14 years. Breaking in adopted wild mustangs that had been brought in to her former ranch from the bureau of land management (BLM), is how she got started training horses. Natalie Crump, has refined her craft using her own personal experiences of training horses in combination with several techniques from great natural horsemanship trainers. A comprehensive study of Clinton Anderson, John Lyons, and Linda / Pat Parelli, compounded with dedication, determination, and patience has derived an infusion of skill and natural horsemanship techniques known today as Equine Innovation.

I've known Natalie a little over a year now. I've watched her train horses from the wild mustang to a giant over 18hh. No matter how big or small, wild or broke, calm or completely bonkers, Natalie will work with it. She is adept at gaining a horse's respect as well as listening to what they have to say. She is a font of information and is very reliable. What I appreciate most about Natalie is that she's constantly on the lookout for ways to evolve as a better trainer; whether it's teaming up with another trainer for a day to compare techniques to attending clinics. In fact, I'll be traveling with her to attend Clinton Anderson's clinic this March. I've learned much from Natalie in the short time I've known her and I look forward to learning much more from her.

Just wanted to say I really like the section of your site that posts Clinton Anderson's tip of the week - that is really good info to share - thank you, Natalie!

Natalie has worked with two of my horses and me extensively. I have a Tennessee Walker with terrible ground manners. She has taught me how to longe him and gain his respect. He was awful about getting in my space. She helped me to use my body language and other techniques to let him know that I am the leader and some of his behaviors were unacceptable. She has also been working with a mustang I recently adopted. He only has 90 days of training. Getting him desensitized to objects like tarps and bags has been one area she has targeted. She is also working on getting him to consistently take his right lead in the canter.

Natalie uses many natural horsemanship techniques and they are very effective.
She very clearly understands horse behavior and how to earn the horse's respect.

I have also watched Natalie train a young warmblood to the point where his owner could get on him and ride comfortably around a ring without any fear of being bucked off or having him rear. She did extensive ground work with him so he was ready to accept a saddle and a rider.

I recommend Natalie highly and have appreciated her assistance with helping me become a better rider and horse owner.
